IMPORTANT NOTICE TO APPLICANTS: Fingerprinting
If you have submitted your fingerprints to the New York State Education Department pursuant to the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education (SAVE) Legislation, then you are not required to be fingerprinted again for subsequent employment in a school. If you have not been fingerprinted, please read on.
All individuals seeking employment in a school setting and all applicants for certification must undergo a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check.
MorphoTrust in conjunction with the Division of Criminal Justice Services provides the service for the capture and transmission of the fingerprint application, fees and digital fingerprint images. There are currently approximately 100 digital fingerprinting sites statewide operated by Morpho Trust, some of which have evening and weekend hours. To schedule an appointment, please contact MorphoTrust at www.identogo.com or by calling (877) 472-6915. The fingerprinting fee is $99.25 and is payable online through a debit or credit card, or on-site at the time of the fingerprinting appointment with a money order, bank check or personal check. Morpho will take a photograph at the time the fingerprints are scanned and you must have two forms of identification. At least one form of identification must contain a photo. Acceptable Photo ID documents: US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, Alien Registration Receipt Card, Unexpired Foreign Passport, Driver's License or Photo ID Card issued by U.S. State or Territory, U.S. Student ID Card with photo (high school or college), Unexpired Employment Authorization with photo or a Photo ID Card issued by Federal, State or Local Government. When making your appointment, Morpho may ask for an ORI number - please use the word TEACH.
Non-Instructional Applicants: Many of our non-instructional positions are classified by NYS Civil Service Law. Competitive positions (clerical, custodian, accounting) may require testing to determine merit and ability. This link is provided to the Oswego County Personnel Department website for civil service examination dates and employment opportunities. Civil Service Positions include any/all positions in Transportation/Food Service and Buildings and Grounds as well as Teacher Aide positions.
