APW students host 38th annual Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner, celebrating tradition and community

With support from administration and staff, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (APW) student government members upheld the cherished tradition of hosting the 38th annual Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner.

The high school cafeteria was transformed into an elegant dining space where guests were served a classic Thanksgiving feast, including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash, vegetables, rolls and homemade pumpkin pie — all prepared and served by the students.

The evening’s dining experience featured live music, humorous entertainment, harvest-themed décor created by elementary school students, and door prizes donated by local businesses, community members and staff.

“This extraordinary event was well-attended, and a great time was had by all,” said Beth Dunham, student government advisor. “I was incredibly proud of everything the students did to ensure our guests had a memorable and enjoyable evening.”

The annual dinner continues to be a highlight for both students and the senior community, showcasing the spirit of gratitude and connection that defines the holiday season.
