APW students step into the shoes of educators during Senior Swap Day

Classrooms at APW JSHS recently looked a bit different as more than a dozen students took on the roles of staff members during the annual Senior Swap Day event.

Eighteen seniors participated in this year’s Senior Swap Day, dressing up as teachers, guidance counselors and administrative staff. Throughout the day, students shadowed their chosen staff members, gaining firsthand experience in their daily responsibilities while helping with various tasks and having fun along the way.

Senior Swap Day, organized annually by Senior Class Advisor Beth Dunham, offers students a unique opportunity to step into the shoes of a staff member. More than just a fun experience, the event provides valuable insights into careers in education and school administration.

“This tradition is always a highlight of the year,” said Dunham. “It’s a great way for our seniors to connect with staff, appreciate their roles and have some fun before graduation.”
