APW’s DeJohn honored with state business teacher award

Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior-Senior High School business teacher Amy DeJohn was recently recognized with the Outstanding FBLA Advisor Award by the Business Teachers Association of New York State.
DeJohn received the honor Friday, Oct. 23, during the association's annual conference, held at Hofstra University on Long Island.
The award recognizes DeJohn's work as an advisor for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), a student organization focused on developing business and leadership skills.
Several members of the APW community attended the ceremony to celebrate DeJohn's achievement, including Superintendent Dr. Naomi Ryfun, Board of Education members Brad Tanner and Shawn Clark, and Leah Tanner, a member of APW's Class of 2026.
DeJohn expressed her appreciation for the support, describing the opportunity to have district representatives and a former student in attendance as especially meaningful.
The recognition highlights DeJohn's dedication to supporting student leadership and business education at APW.
