APW Elementary School Hosts November PBIS Assembly

APW Elementary School is dedicated to educating students and encouraging positive behaviors in the process. The adoption of the PBIS program, or Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support, is intended to enhance the current practices and change the overall elementary school culture for the better. With PBIS, schools teach behavioral expectations the same way they would core subjects like reading and math. With the PBIS model, the focus is on prevention of behaviors, not punishment.
Each month, the Elementary School hosts a PBIS Assembly to highlight the focal behaviors/values of the previous month and recognize students who demonstrated these behaviors. This is great way to celebrate and honor the students who are exhibiting positive behaviors while encouraging their peers to strive to do the same.
The behavior traits in focus for the month of October were Diversity & Tolerance. Congratulations to all of those who were recognized at this month’s assembly! The value in focus for November is kindness. We can’t wait to see how our Rebels demonstrate kindness to one another. May we all be inspired to be Rebel Ready and kind to one another!
