School Tax Information
The school tax collector will be on duty in the district office to answer questions during the following months:
- September 2-30
- October 1-31
After October 31, unpaid taxes will be returned to the County Treasurer.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS REGARDING SCHOOL TAXES
Q: When will I get my school tax bill?
A: Bills will be mailed out during the last week of August. If you don’t receive your bill by September 2, you may contact the school tax collector at 315-625-5215.
Q: When are my school taxes due?
A: School taxes are due, without penalty, by October 1. From October 2-31, payments must include the 2 percent late penalty.
Q: How can I pay my school taxes?
- In person: Pathfinder Bank - Using the Drive-up window only, 3361 Main Street, Mexico, NY 13114
- By mail: **PREFERRED METHOD DUE TO COVID-19**

Choose your name and select the “Proceed to payment” button which will direct you to a PayPal site to pay a site fee (collected directly by PayPal, not the school district) in addition to any credit card processing fees your bank may have.
Please note, partial payments are not accepted.
Q: Where can I pay my school taxes, if I want to pay them in person?
A: You can pay your bill in person at: *You must bring your bill with you to the bank in order to pay your bill there.

A: Any bills that are not paid by October 31 will be turned over to the County Treasurer for collection. At that point, a 7% penalty will be imposed and re-levied on the January County tax bill.
Q: Why are unpaid taxes after October 31st not able to be paid at Oswego County?
A: Unpaid taxes will be returned to Oswego County Treasurer, and will be added to the County Tax Bill with additional 7% re-levy fee. There will be no opportunity to pay this bill after October 31.
